Our Story
LINC was founded on the basis that no one in our community should have to choose between basic necessities and supporting their family. What started as two high school students looking to give back has grown into a developed organization thanks to the dedication of volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Aidan Barth and Abigail Franco were looking for a way to support their local New Providence community as high school students. Looking around, it became apparent that many members of the community lacked consistent access to basic essentials, like food. Together, they founded LINC and kicked off the effort that became a thriving support program.
Since its founding, LINC has continued to expand its outreach to broader communities in Union County and provide greater access to essentials, growing to supply personal care and cleaning items. Though the efforts evolve and develop, our mission remains steady on building a stronger, healthier, and more connected community for all of our neighbors.
A Look Back…
February 2022
Aidan Barth and Abigail Franco found the LINC Program as high school students.
August 2022
The community resource pantry opens and hosts its first distribution of food.
August 2024
The SchoolFuel program is launched in the New Providence School District, offering students access to easy-grab lunch and breakfast items.
August 2026
The resource pantry hosts its 48th monthly distribution, celebrating 4 years in operation.
From a single shelf…
LINC began with a single shelf: just a couple of cans and boxes and a vision to help our neighbors. More than 4 years later, LINC has grown by over 650%, providing more clients with a greater variety of necessities each month.
Our Mission
The LINC Program fights food and resource insecurity across New Jersey by providing local families access to resources they need to be healthy. We exist to support our neighbors’ needs with dignity and respect, while strengthening the communities we serve. Through a central resource pantry in New Providence, a school pantry program known as “SchoolFuel,” and advocacy through social media and public outreach, we are working towards a future where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive.

Our school program supporting students in need with on-the-go breakfast and lunch items to make sure they can focus on their education rather than their next meal.
